So glad this day has come to an end.
Horrible, horrible day.
In a nutshell:
crying sadie
arguing harper
gained a pound at weight watchers
jimmy's nana is sick
feeling frustrated
missing J.
But the day is over, and tomorrow can only be better.
I have been making myself be creative the past few days. I was getting so out of sorts and I realized that if I gave myself a bit of time to play every day
I felt much better.
Don't get me wrong, most days it's about 15 minutes,
but luckily I'm still a super fast scrapbooker.
Wish I would have snapped a photo before I took H with me to vote last night.
She was SO excited to go with me and when we got there I realized why.
She kept asking the ladies "WHERE DA WATER BE????".
yeah, she thought i said i was taking her
"boating".
bless her heart.
Next week we will be 1/3 of the way through this deployment.
Not too shabby, I'm so happy to feel like we are making progress.
J. comes home for R and R in February.
February is a good month. Sadie turns 1, Valentines Day,
and we can celebrate J's 30th birthday (january 1).
Fly time, FLY.
Hope you all had a fantastic Wednesday.
xo
Sorry you had a bad day sweetie!
But you always look for the positive!
1/3 way thru! Awesome! I'm so glad he
gets to come home for a bit. Hurry up
February!

Hi Steph, you are the strongest person I know, and the most honest! I'm glad you share your bad days, too, things always get a lighter if you can talk about it. Atleast, it works for me.
I have been wanting to tell you...you are such a good Mom...you are so diligent in scrapbooking the girls. They are so lucky that you're their Mom...as they get older those scrapbooks will mean so much to them. And even further down the road...they'll be a heirloom they pass on to share with their families. Your layouts are so nice, but your journaling is "so real"...like you were speaking to them. What beautiful girls you have...you're blessed to have them and they are blessed to have you & Jimmy for parents.
woohooooooo 1/3 way thru!! That is awesome! I'll be so glad for you all when he is home and at rest in your arms.
and just one more thing...I love your blog...you are so "real" it restores my faith in good people.
big hugs to you & your 2 little chickies!

Hugs!!! I'm sorry yesterday was so rough. I hope that today is a million times better for you!!!
Posted by: Jenney | 11/06/2008 at 05:39 AM
So good to see you vent!!!! You need to tell us when it's a bad day, because it's tough enough to handle the everyday things when your husband is home, I cannot imagine doing it alone! 1/3 of the way is wonderful, we will all be anxious for February. Again, wow, what can I say about you LO's. I posted two that I did yesterday and they look sad compared to your talent! So glad that you got some time to put your energy into creating, because it always makes me so happy to see your work! I too had one of those days with the boys on Tuesday. Evan was off of school and Gavin was in one of those monster moods. I told my daughter, I know I am getting old, because it is so much harder with this little man than it was with Evan. It got so bad, I had to sit on the front porch for a few minutes, while he banged on the storm door, but what do you do with a screaming child for three hours. Kudos to you my friend and I am wishing you a wonderful Thursday!!!!! Keep creating!

Glad you made it through your day. Love H's boat comment. SO CUTE! Great LO as always. Love the new Martha punch you used. I'm off to find one of my own tomorrow!
Posted by: Amy Coose | 11/06/2008 at 07:19 AM
Hugs. Those days are so much worse when you don't have someone physically there to spell you for a bit.
But tomorrow HAS to be better ... right?
Take care.

Oh I know about the fussy little ones. Mine has been the same way. It is like since the tme change he has been "off". Hope yours gets better, and mine too! I love your lo's. I am still new and think I shouldn't have any blank spaces! February will be here before you know it! How old will Sadie be then? Mine will be 2 on the 10th of February!

Praying praying praying for time to fly, for you to get play time if that helps, for the girls to be loves, for your spirits to lift quickly from what sounds like a bit of an ugly day. And, maybe boating wouldn't have been so bad...if you know what I mean.
Posted by: Susan Beth Breuner | 11/06/2008 at 08:52 AM
I can totally relating to the "voting" thing. My girls thought the same thing the first time they went with me. They thought we were going "boating" too. Funny you mention that as they brought it up again on Tuesday when I talked about voting and we had a good laugh. They are almost 12 now.

Congrats on making 1/3 of the way. My husband will be deploying in December for 6 months. I have a 4 kids (4, 3, 2, and 3 month old). I will be staying with my parents while he is away. I understand how hard deployments can be. This will be the second time my husband has gone to Iraq. I will keep you and your family in my prayers!

Awe Steph. I'm sorry you had such a rough day. I hope today is going better for you. I'm amazed that you can scrap that fast! Your layouts are adorable. I hope you get a chance to journal and scrap about the 'boating' experience. That's too cute! LOL!
Posted by: Julie O. | 11/06/2008 at 01:17 PM
So sorry about your bad day! And poor H - "boating" - aww!
Time WILL fly...just look at your girls and think about when they were baby-babies - now where did the time go?
I only wish I were as fast a scrapper as you...I'll have a couple hours and still the page isn't done, and I'll ask myself the same question, "now where DID that time go?!" Praying for your family!
Posted by: Cynthia B. | 11/06/2008 at 02:16 PM
Big hugs! Hope you're having a better day today. I know it's hard. Fortunately, you're in the middle of the time of year that flies by fastest. It'll be February before you know it! ;0)

I'm so sorry you had a crappy day!
You most likely gained muscle from the lunges and squats so just keep drinking a lot of water!
I love the layouts, your work is always so fresh and pretty!
Hang in there!
hugs,

I'm sorry you had a rough patch. I hate those days. Yesterday on the way to preschool I had to pull over 5 times because Payton was having such a fit that she was extracting herself from her car seat. It was SO frustrating.
33% is very close to 50% which is getting to 75 and then 100% of the time will be here before you are ready!
Posted by: Davinie | 11/06/2008 at 06:34 PM
May today have been better and tomorrow even better than today. ((((hugs)))) and prayers are being sent your way. Miserable days happen that is why God made seven days in a week :-) Just think 1/3 of the way there and Febuary rapidly approaching, may it get here very quickly.
hang in there sweetie...

can you teach me to be a fast scrapbooker, please? and the visual of harper thinking you are taking her boating is absolutely hysterical. :)

Oh, I'm so sorry... Days like that are so hard. The arguing is what I deal with a lot! I really don't remember arguing with my parents at such a young age :) I know you miss Jimmy... I can't imagine. Try to stay positive - February will be here before you know it!! You're in my thoughts...
Posted by: Courtney F. | 11/07/2008 at 12:40 PM

OH, and that Harper! She had me laughing so hard. I'm having issues with my pancreas and I was like, "hahha, ouch, hahahh, ouch!"
Totally worth it! "Where da water be!?" lol

I miss you too! But you guys are moving to washington right? someday?
I'm sorry you had a bad day. I hope things are better today. Your scrapping is beautiful as usual.
You know what? THinking about you made me make the crazy move up here before the house was ready. I thought...i bet steph would give anything to be able to be with her husband if she could...what am I doing here when I could be with him? So i moved up even though I knew it wouldn't be perfect. You're in my prayers steph.

This page is amazing! I'm tickled that you can pull off pages like this on the "worst day ever"!
You were the Scrapbook Page of the Week at Card of the Week.com. You can see the original post here: http://www.cardoftheweek.com/2008/11/scrapbook-sat-1.html.
I did use a picture from your post, with links back to the site and the original post. I hope that is OK. Please feel free to email me if you need me to change anything.
I also have an “I was featured” on badge for you if you want it :D

Your layout are just so adorable! Of course, the photos just shine - but your titles and journaling just finish them off.

I checked out your blog after seeing it on the new paper craft planets site. I just LOVE that site! But after reading your blog I realised you, your husband and your children are Hero's. Your dedication to this country goes unnoticed by so many. Thank you! Thank You for sacrificing your husband and your time with him so he can fight for our freedom. I have loved ones that sacrifice like you do. My Brother in law goes to Iraq a lot and he leaves his wife and two kids at home. We always tell him how proud we are of him and we always make sure we let his wife and children know we are proud of them as well. They sacrifice as much as he does.
So, I wanted to say "Thank You". Thanks for keeping your head held high and loving an American Soldier. Your a Hero in My book!
