you guys know, since i've mentioned (often)
that i LOVE valentine's decor.
i think it's b/c it's such an unabashedly girly holiday.
and it should come as no surprise that i love girly. girly? i can do.
i've been scouring stores for cute and affordable valentine's decorations. sadie's birthday party is on feb. 13, so i have a good excuse to buy some new v day goodies this year.
i found some really cute (and cheap) stuff at oriental trading.
paper doilies in various sizes:
garlands:
string-able foam conversation hearts
foam doilies (the plain white circle doilies on the left are actually from publix):
i also found some sweet things at hobby lobby:
a heart chain:
felt roses:
heart wreath:
and i also got a few packages of these making memories embellishments:
i've also seen super cute decor at michaels, target, and the dollar spot at our PX (the military version of a wal mart).
i mean, these items were all super affordable, and i have big plans for them!
here is an idea i'm definitely doing...how simple yet pretty is this??
( from tumblr, where i have an inspiration blog)

i'm also going to hang some doilies on twine using clothes pins.
lots of banners, etc.
yes, i know all of this is very "trendy" and "in" right now. but i've always had a weakness for doilies, etc. when i was in junior high, i ordered an old fashioned valentine kit. it had victorian images, doilies, lace...i had so much fun making those cards. i doubt any of my friends appreciated them, they were way more into NKOTB. heee!
so anyway, thought i'd share. have a beautiful monday! xoxo
Valentines decor? Are you kidding me? LOL, here in Australia, Valentines Day barely even exists, and I can't recall ever giving or receiving a Valentine! How sad is that?
Absolutely LOVING those doilies though. Please please post lots of pics of your Valentine decor...I am fascinated!

So this whole entry is about V-day and what sticks out to me? You bought something at PUBLIX! Publix is my very favorite grocery store and we don't have them here (which is probably good since they are pricy!) If you have not already, you must go get yourself a publix deli sub.
And some red velvet cake.
Okay, now I'm drooling...

Steph, you always find the coolest stuff!
I would love to have that many crafy stores in my area.
Those felt roses are especially amazing, I can't wait to see what you do with them!
I've only bought some doilies and some MS felt heart stuff so far.

great ideas! and a completely off topic question...who makes the letter stickers you used for your title in your "since you" and "no picnic" layouts (white with red outline)? They look familar but I can't remember and I'm thinking I really need some!
Thanks, Robin

Love that pink wreath! We are decorating for Happy Hearts Day too...much to my husband's dismay. Thanks for sharing!

I am running out the door to look for that wreath at Hobby Lobby. I love the doilies with the twinkle lights too. I am actually making a garland with some of the Studio Calico Feb 2009 paper. I loved that kit so I've kind of held on to the stuff, for example see Golem "My Precious", but am glad I am using it.

I am so jealous of all your gorgeous Valentines goodies! I am in LOVE with the heart doilies!! Unfortunately Valentine's day isn't as a big a deal in Australia, so there is no hope of getting beautiful decorations like yours :( I'm looking forward to seeing how you decorate for Sadie's party.
