and move on from that madness yesterday. which, turns out, was a misunderstanding in every way possible. we all do the best we can as mamas. i don't know what works for you, and you don't know what works for me. but we need to all support one another. yes??? ;) so let's move forward this monday morning.
monday? ugh. i was not looking forward to you. i have to do the grocery lists (yes, i know i still owe you guys a post on that topic), i have to go buy another gallon of paint (we are alllmost done with the neverending living room!), i have to clean, and i then off to the chiro. any of you had sciatic pain? no fun. no fun at all. but thanks to a month or so with a chiropractor, it's almost gone. i can't believe it. but i'm still not used to being manipulated like that.
uhhhhh that just sounds wrong.
sooooo since i don't technically have anything special to post ( I just REALLY want a new post since yesterday's ;)...i thought i'd share some recent iphone photos.
they are usually a pretty good summary of what's been going on in my life.
my favorite white wine (this was either codax albarino or cupcake sauvignon blanc) in my favorite wine glass. i broke the other one SHOCKING...and i'm heartbroken we love these!
some of our old friends are slowly filtering into town (for new jobs, different schools they are taking here), and we are thrilled! so nice to be around friends.
my favorite bits and pieces in an old tin bowl on my scrap table.
the howell girls...do you see a theme here? yes, i love those shoes. big time.
daddy time is SO different than mommy time. still can't figure out why they are so hyper when he is home. heeee~
sadie's new face. attractive isn't it. HA! she also snorts like a piggie when she does it, which is all the more attractive. this was during story time at the library when the teacher told them to dance. the snorty/piggy face is her "Hell NO!/you've got to be kidding me" face.
this is the other face she makes lots. and NO i did not DO anything to her. hahaha.
is that not the most pitiful thing you've ever seen?
harper is way into cardigans, headbands, and pearls lately. could she be any more preppy? blair waldorf, party of one!!
okay, so not only is jimmy cute as heck in uniform and good at chasing down the bad guys...he's also an amazing chef. i know, not fair. but i'm sure grateful!
this night he made this chicken ratatouille and it was incredible.
caught this precious moment early in the morning last week. thought they were up to no good b/c they were so quiet...so i tiptoed in to catch 'em at it...and found this.
be still my beating heart!!
sickie harper:
yes, this is really on my mantel. yes, i REALLY wanted to put major hottie. but didn't have the right blocks. hahaha!
working on decorations/ snacks for sadie's party this saturday.
these are cookie cutters from the dollar spot at the PX. i filled them with sweet tart hearts, conversation hearts, and m&ms. sidenote: one of the conversation hearts says "TWEET ME". are you kidding me? this freaks me out. i can't lie.
when i was little, they probably said
"give me a call from your rotary phone that doesn't let you walk more than a foot away when you are talking on it".
so, there's my random post for the week.
love you all!
xoxox
I've never understood the us vs them mama mentality. Being a mother is hard enough without worrying that people are judging the things you do or do not do.
The Major Daddy thing cracks me up.

Ok, well this is a great post, Steph! And you have every right to say what you want to on your blog, that is why it is your blog. We all have different opinions, does not make yours or mine bad at all, just different!! So how cute is that pic of the girls on the chair?!!! And what a great idea using the cookie cutters as little candy holders?!! I love that and so simple, so why didn't I think of that?!! Teee Heeee
I hope the bday party will be a blast for the girls and I am sure their momma will make it special!!!

Great way to start the week! LOve your photos, such a cute peak into your loving home, thank you for sharing it with us.
OMG (lol), Tweet Me, seriously? I'm a 7th grade English teacher that has been a SAHM since my son was born 7 years ago and I'm returning to the classroom this fall - I'm sure it will be quite a shock to my system now that they all text and tweet and fb - goodness, help me!
Have a great week Steph, {HUGS}!

Great post! Love the cutie girls in the rocking chair! Wishing iphone was on the verizon network...stinks to carry cell phone + ipod. OH and the rotary phone thing...boy do I remember those days-if we moved too far away from the base of the phone and pulled a little too hard, the headset unplugged from the phone. (we were trying to get some privacy, hence the pulling of the phone cord!) Enjoy your Monday!!

Oh man, you had me laughing out loud a few times there!! But can I say I "feel" your pain with the sciatic problem?? My back is so screwy. I have the sciatic nerve pinch problem AND major scoliosis. I have seen the chiropractor, but my problem is sleeping and in the early am, then I'm ok after a couple of hours. Then if I lay down again, I'm up in 5 hours writhing in pain again. No good. I hope yours gets better because like you said -- NO FUN!

Hey Steph...I agree with some of the other comments. You know what, this is your blog, to document your thoughts and feelings and we just come along for the ride, laughing, crying and thanking you for sharing your life with us. This means you can say whatever you want to say. Now of course, others can give there opinion, and I understand that you were just clarifying what you said, BUT still, people shouldn't be hating on you. If they do, tell them to leave your blog and don't read it. There are enough of us that love you, to not worry about those that don't. I had a question for you too....I have a friend of mine who's husband is based at FT. Benning and she is a doll. I know you would love her. I know you've talked about how hard it is to make new friends when you move, so I thought I'd share mine with you if you wanted. Let me know if you would like her info. Smiles and hugs to all of you!!

Classic on the shoes! We must have run into the same sale several months ago - I sport the grey con's and my 4 year old loves her pink high top cons! Love the picture, I've taken one of her feet, I will be copying your shot and taking a picture of BOTH of our feet in our cons. Love it! :)

You are just such a wonderful person. Don't let the negative nellies who are carrying around their own baggage bring you down. You're wonderful! I LOVE reading about you and your girls and your lovely husband. Happy Day to you!

loving your commentary on conversation hearts. and i love the "slice of life" feel that you get from phone pictures. i've got to figure out how to get mine from phone to computer :)

Ha! Love the rotary phone comment! Caelan was telling me to day that one of his friends got in trouble in for texting in class and her mom got an email from the teacher. It was at that moment I realized we used to get in trouble for writing and passing notes in class. They don't pass notes anymore! Texting is their (much more efficient) version of note passing. I felt really old.

Bravo! Love your post... your girls are adorable, you are kind, sweet, honset, fun and most adorable too... and um, yes, it is too bad you didn't have the blocks to spell "hottie" ;-) You inspire us via your blog, keep it up and remember, a little bit of controversy just makes for more blog post comments and gives some of us something to think about when we would otherwise just be watching tv., (sheepish grin) ... so there is always an upside!
Posted by: Beth Moore | 02/09/2010 at 06:38 AM
You have the best sense of humor! What a great post. I love the "Major Hottie/Daddy". I don't know many people light-hearted enough to try to put We Love Major Hottie on their mantel! :) Your kids are adorable, how can you not love those pouty faces?
