It's time for my January Studio Calico layouts. The kit this month is called Who's Who and it's full of beautiful colors and patterns.
I also purchased the Betty Crocker add-on. I loved the colors, flowers, and butterflies. Shocking, I know!
I was only responsible for doing one layout this month (due to the arrival of two certain sweet baby girls) but I really wanted to do more, and I was able to do one extra. I so wish I would have had time to do more, but it wasn't in the cards. :)
Here's what I came up with:
Before
a layout written to my two big girls telling them i know it is different now. and that i know that's hard for them, but that i promise it will get better soon.
made using: who's who, betty crocker
I'll be honest, these BasicGrey papers (main patterned paper block and trimmed borders on block) were very intimidating to me when I first looked at them. I wasn't sure how to use them, as the colors are not colors I normally use on my pages.
Then I realized that this photograph matched the papers perfectly and that I could soften the color scheme by adding some crepe paper ribbon, floral accents, and bows.
I added a "h" and "s" to the girls in the photo, no reason really, i just liked the way it looked. ha!
I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
Two Times the Love, Double the Happiness
i've really been wanting to scrap these sweet photos of the babies, and the pastel colors of betty crocker seemed that they would work well.
made using:who's who and betty crocker, jbs ink in chewing gum
i used the journaling stamp with jbs chewing gum ink (a soft, pretty pink) and i like the way it worked out.
touches of crepe paper ribbon add more softness. i cut a "2" off of the border stickers sheet to stick on the flower. two butterflies also enhance the "two" theme.
sidenote: i LOVE the pink paislee alphas and need more. :)
also, can someone please tell me why i didn't order dear abby? ugh. I'll blame it on baby brain. i adore that one and might go buy it now.
have a wonderful, beautiful tuesday!

Soooo cute Stephanie! Oh I have waited since I knew you were having twins to see the darling layouts you would make. Love them!
Enjoy this magical (although it may seem trying) time with all of them.
Thanks for sharing your precious girls with us!

Beautiful LO's as usual. I'm trying hard to resist Dear Abby myself--I got Betty Crocker and I really don't need more stuff--we'll see how my will power holds up. I just wanted to let you know that the journaling to your girls on the Before LO made me go "awwww". It is so sweet and heartfelt and just really beautiful!

Your layouts are almost as beautiful as your girls! I love them both! Is the crepe paper just regular stuff from the party isle at Target?

Stephanie, these layouts are beautiful! I especially love how the picture in "Before" matches the papers. It was my immediate thought --even before I read the description. You totally inspire me to find time to scrap!

beautiful steph!! I keep saying I dont' have time to pull out my stuff and scrap especially since it's all packed away now that i'm living out of suitcases at mom's for a bit but if you can do it with two babies and two big girls, I have no excuse really...I need to get something done soon for my cousin's baby shower in 3 weeks (that I'm throwing) and I'm giving her an album as part of her gift so i guess I better get busy, huh? lol
