What happens when you combine the common cold, a virus of some sort, bronchitis, and mastitis?
One sick mama. She's hopped up on all sorts of medicines. Her hair resembles a clown wig. She's run down.
And a bedroom that=a disaster zone. She hasn't an ounce of energy to stop the bigs from spreading what was clean laundry all over the floor. She just lets them look for whatever it is they are looking for. :)
also-if that photo isn't proof that my life is far from picture perfect/a pottery barn catalog, I don't know what is. Heh.
Back soon. Xxo
Feel better soon!

My boys are off from school but while my oldest is spending the week off w/his Auntie I have 2 here and well lets just say I don't do any crunches of how many times I have "tried" to pick things up.. I finally have said THAT's IT I'll just clean up for real on Monday when you guys go back to school! :)

It's so cool that you don't try to pretend your life is perfect. That's exactly why you have so many readers, because we feel like we fit in here. We can be sick and let the house go without trying to cover it up. And we can, because you admit to the world that it's okay to. You're brilliant, Steph, even when you're sick! Lot's of hot chocolate and blankets. And try to rest, though I know that's pretty impossible with small kids- do your best! Feel better soon, honey. :)
Posted by: Orla | 02/23/2011 at 04:10 PM
Ha, that's so cute! That's exactly what sick days in my house look like, and I'm never sure who enjoys the disney more- me or the kids!

Oh man. Feel better Steph!
Posted by: Tiffany | 02/23/2011 at 04:28 PM
I'm SO sorry you're sick but I'm SO glad your house looks like that!
It makes me feel better about mine!
Sorry, too, you have to face the clean-up, but just leave it 'til you're feeling better!

My theory on housework is, if the item doesn't multiply, smell, catch fire, or block the refrigerator door, let it be. No one else cares. Why should you?” Erma Bombeck

Posted by: Kathy | 02/23/2011 at 08:54 PM
The hardest thing about being a mom is when you are sick and still have to take care of little people. Wish I could be there to hold the babies and take the bigs out to play! Feel better- get some rest. Let the kids eat potato chips and watch tv all day- that's what I resort to when I'm really sick. :)

Get well soon! All of our houses look like that at some point...especially when we have small children and we're sick. At some point, when the kids are older, you realize that you can get sick and it's not a national emergency! That part is great about them getting older...but otherwise having them little like that is so much FUN!

oh stephaine my heart breaks for you, to be sick and have mastitis too is not good, hope you have a super quick recovery and sending healing vibes your way, dont worry about mess, or housework or any of that, it is not important and can be put right when you feel better, looking after yourself and your little family is all that matters right now xxxx

I wish I lived near, I would love to help you---just even to get 20 minutes of sleep. Who cares about the laundry? Your kids are loved, warm, fed and thriving, and 10 years, no one is going to care that the clothes weren't folded and put away neatly. Personally, I think that is a sign of a sick mind anyway! ;)
Posted by: roxanne | 02/24/2011 at 09:41 AM
No fun! Be healed. :)

It is the pits! I agree. Unfortunately both my husband and I realized that as we got older we got a lot slower and did have more physical problems...a hard reality. Children are little incubators. And love to bring home everything from school. Take those vitamins. I'll ask for God's healing touch for you. And I know you'll make it through this and the many more to come.
Posted by: Candy | 02/24/2011 at 11:41 AM
order take-out and promise yourself you will clean later. My sister in law did once make the kids put one thing away for one m&m. She had a bumper bag. She said the more sugar they got the faster they tidied lol.
seriously though, hope you are feeling better soon.
