Here's the story behind this layout. The past four weeks or so, J has had training. He either didn't come home at all, or came home really late at night/very early in the morning.
Exhausted.
And I was usually up feeding the babies, no matter what time it was.
He always went in and checked on the girls. Covered them, adjusted them in their beds, kissed them.
I love this about him.
He also does it every morning before he leaves for work.
And I wanted to make sure to document that. So there you have it!!
the layout itself is pretty sweet and simple. i screwed up on the stammping, but i don't care. i don't think that anyone will notice that when flipping through my albums one day.
or maybe one of my girls will be a scrapbooker, and really bad at stamping (like i am) and get a kick out of it!
Have a fabulous Sunday! xoxo
Beautiful page! I didn't notice, but I am not really a stamper so... ;) Great idea to capture this routine!

That is so sweet and what a wonderful memory to document. I love the LO, love the colors and everything about it. I'm not a very good stamper either - LOL
You guys have a wonderful, wonderful day!!!!

How special. My husband does the same thing with our girls each night and it melts my heart every time!

Love telling everyday stories like this one. This is a story that may have gone forgotten later on, but you captured it here so well..such a beautiful page and an important story to tell.
I love stamps but if they are too big...Bigger than the palm of my hand or to small...held with two fingers, I always mess them up. Ughh. Embrace imperfection, embrace imperfection (I have to remind myself of that constantly).

love it, love that about daddy. my hubs always does the same thing with our boys.
i always mess up stamping too. ugh! i guess it's too precise of a technique for my style.

That is so sweet. And great layout, I love the colours!
I think it's great that your layouts are like really pretty diary entries, you capture everything, and so beautifully. Can I ask, maybe the girls are too young yet, but maybe Harper's not- what do they think of your scrap-booking? I can only imagine how much they'll love having all their memories documented when they're older. :)

they LOVE looking through my albums. i love watching them do it. so precious

You messed up? I thought that was the way it was supposed to be. Shhh....When you tell, it's a mistake. When you don't, it's art. Secret's safe with me!

Awh that's brilliant.:) Oh my gosh, I think I'll just have to steal your kids, they're so perfect! Just kidding, of course, but they really are amazing. :)

Another beautiful layout, another wonderful memory captured!! Thanks for sharing! :)

Steph, I didn't notice the stamping until I read it below!! LOL I am not good at stamping either. I tend to mess it up quite often! You aren't the only one. I too love how you capture these little day to day things that probably wouldn't be remembered years down the road. My hubby does the same thing when he leaves for work in the morning, or if he gets up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom (He is usually going to bed the same time I am putting them to bed). He will go check on the kids.

I love it when you get mushy about Jimmy...makes me adore your family just a little more! Adorable layout...and I might just be able to pull my stamps out of hiding if someone I admire as much as you messes them up too!

honestly, steph, i didn't notice the 'screw up' in the stamping, i still really can't tell what you mean...all i can see is a super sweet layout...vintage 'stephanie' that your girls will adore one day and i have no doubt whatsoever that one day not so long from now all four will be very eager to follow in mama's footsteps...hmmm...wonder which DT Harper will be on oneday...

Thanks again, Stephanie! I so love the way that you give yourself permission to make a mistake in your scrapbooking. It is very freeing for me to see someone like you who does such beautiful work to focus on the joy of the creation and not the one thing in your layout that isn't "quite right". You are an inspiration! I read your blog every day now, because I really enjoy all of your comments.

what? you messed the stamping up? i can't even see where/what you are referring to! ha!! This is such a heart-warming story-- and i think it's WONDERFUL you have documented this sweet (& unseen to the girls) part of their relationship. they will love reading this when they are older some day. My husband does the same thing... however he will cuddle with them and tends to fall asleep all night with jonah sometimes!! ha!!! have a lovely sunday!

You made a mistake? I didn't notice, but, yay! That's what I love about you - you just embrace it all. Me? I'm just stuck - stuck, stuck, stuck. Wish I could get to where you are! Thanks for the encouragement. You are the best (so good that your "mistakes" seem intentional!)

There are no screw-ups in stamping, Stephanie:) Just remember that. I love, love how you embraced your stamping. And I just love J - He's my American Hero! (and I'm old enough to be his Mother:)Hugs, Steph!

i cannot tell that you made any mistakes...your layout is wonderful. love it!
Posted by: jackie | 02/13/2011 at 08:36 PM
I don't think you messed up either...can't see it...the layout is just too beautiful!
Posted by: Elizabeth | 02/13/2011 at 09:24 PM
Hmm ... I AM a stamper and I didn't see it either. When stamping mishaps occur you have two choices. 1-Ignore it and just pretend it was INTENTIONAL. 2-Give a little squeal of delight, cuz now you an opportunity for an EMBELLISHMENT! ;-) Love the page and LOVE the story. Such a sweet man you chose to be the girls' daddy! Happy Valentine's Day.

Great memory to capture. I am always having stamping problems too. I stress over it & really get nervous when I'm about to stamp. And ultimately I usually mess it up. The one you used was one of my favorites of SC & I've never used it!!! You cant eeven notice a stamp mess up BTW. The layout is gorgeous!

This is such a sweet layout, Steph! I don't see anything "messed up" about it-it's a treasure!!!
