heard this week:
1. in preschool, harper has been learning about jesus' miracles. she is VERY into telling us about them when she gets home and sadie is VERY into hearing about them.
before school on thursday:
Harper: MOMMY! i drank all of my soy milk!!
Me: WHAT? it's a MIRACLE!! (she never drinks her milk)
Sadie: Jumps up from chair...WHAT MAMA??? JESUS IS IN DERE!!! (pointing at harper's cup).
Me: crying i am laughing so hard.
2. In the drive through at my favorite BBQ joint here in town, the little old lady working the register leaned out of the window, peered in the back of my van and hollered "ARE YOU $*#(ing crazy???".
I laughed so hard i woke the babies up.
a. i love little old ladies with potty mouths.
b. this was by far the most original way that anyone has shown their surprise at the fact that i have four children under five.
hope your week was happy! have a beautiful weekend. xo

Hope you are all enjoying this glorious weather that South Georgia is giving us right now!

Stephanie - Your girls are just so beautiful. I love to read your blog. You truly have inspired me to be a better mom and not worry so much about what everyone thinks. Thank you :)
By the way I am a nut about red velvet cupcakes. Who makes the mix you purchased? I would love to try them.
Thanks,

So the picture of you with the babies made me jealous beyond belief. It was a primal, instinctual reaction. Mine are fabulous and fun at 10, 12 and 14 but oh how I envy you. Enjoy every minute like I know you already try to do!

Ok, so, what does this wine taste like??? I'm normally not a red wine drinker but, the name of this stuff has me wondering...
BTW, love the 'ashion!!! Target is a favorite of mine for little girls clothes too!

Stephanie, you would be quite the norm around here. Everyone seems to want their kids very close in age, so they would play together well. Lots of twins around here too! Cute pictures! Have a great weekend!

Four children under five?!?!? Four! Five!
I've been watching your little family grow and I know you have your hands full, but golly until you put it like that....
Your wonderwoman status just rose a fair bit in my mind!

Posted by: Sharon Osborn | 02/18/2011 at 05:10 PM
My grandmother had 5 under 5 (with 2 sets of twins back to back - gasp!) and she still had another one 11 years later (my mom) - some things are just meant to be, she always used to say, and in a time of all cloth diapers - I shutter to think. You are doing something amazing there that few people can do - hold your head high, because you are a rockstar. Thank you for raising 4 beautiful little ladies for this world - it makes it far more beautiful.

Well I picked up the Cupcake chardonnay wine today.......I'm hoping it's good. I don't do red wine, but just might try the red velvet if I ever find it!!

I have a smile on my face from ear to ear thanks to reading this post. Don't know which story I thought was funnier...Sadie's Miracle or the Drive through. As for your taste in wine, it couldn't be better. I discovered Cupcake Chardonnay before the holidays and bought it because I liked the name. Now it's my new favorite, must- always-have-a-bottle-in-the-house wine! What a score to find it on sale!

I must ask this *(and, I mean absolutely no disrespect by doing so) - - -was the little, old woman African American? I am AA, and my grandmother reminds me SOOOO much of the woman who made the comment? She would have told you the same thing VERBATIM. However, she would have prefaced the remark with a "GD, woman. . . " This is the same who woman who threatened a Mickey D's drive-thru employee with the following statement, "If your co-worker keeps being rude to me, I will slap the lard off of her fat ***."

O.M.G!!!!! I'm am laughing so hard!! Stephanie, your post was cute but Cee's comment is hilarious! Thank you both for the early morning guffawing laughter! Nice way to wake up! I'm pretty sure thinking about this during the day is going to produce out-loud bouts of giggling laughter and people are going to think I have lost my mind! Ohh...but that was funny!
Posted by: Lisa | 02/19/2011 at 08:23 AM
Stephanie, I don't know how you held your pee during the drive-thru! I would have DIIIIIIIIIIIED!
RE: my grandma, some child spit on my brother's coat when he was in the 3rd grade. They made her sign the visitor's book (because she parked the car and went inside), and for her name, she wrote Poop (not the word that she used). Needless to say, she was barred from the school.
Thanks for responding!

Great stories. Thanks for sharing!! I love that you laughed at the old lady at the BBQ joint. Good for you for seeing the humor in it. I think some people would have been offended. I like to think I'd laugh too! :) I love old people, especially southerners.

Love the post and laugh when I think of the BBQ ladies comment! I am going to be one of those ladies that people can't believe what's coming out of my mouth...my Mom is already like that! Hee hee! LOVE it!

I loved reading (and laughing so much while doing so) this post! The spring 'ashions are adorable, especially that gray and white polka dot dress. Why don't they offer such cuteness in ladies' 'ashions, I wonder?
hmmm....I'll have to track down some of that wine to try out. I loooove some good wine!

My mother-in-law has a potty mouth...I was going to say 'slight potty mouth' but you either do or you don't! Ha! My kids grew up being called 'little s#!t$' and '[email protected] blossoms'!! All in love!! And now when she calls them she leaves messages like, 'where the h*ll are you!' Love her to pieces!! It's great that you see the humor in daily happenings! Your girls won't be hurt by taking things to seriously!! Love your stories and you SB-ing talents!!
