**Gussy Sews giveaway still open two posts below!!**
this past weekend i walked in the room to find sadie with her foot (and the shoe that encased it) everrrrrrrrr so gently resting on lucy's face.
and i flipped out.
well, not really but kind of. i gave her a long speech about how gross that was and how would she like it if i put my foot on her face?
she said she'd like it.
for which jimmy sent her to time out. after her requisite three minutes on the naughty spot, i overheard j having this talk with her.
J: Sadie, why were you in time out?
S: I put my foot on he's face.
J: What?
S: I put my foot on she's face.
J: That's right. You need to go tell the babies you are sorry.
S: BUT I ONLY PUT MY FOOT ON ONE BABIES FACE!!!!
at this point i jumped in. teamwork, baby.
Me: Fine. Sadie, you go tell Lucy you are sorry. NOW. (insert mean mommy face/stink eye).
S: {slowly wandering over to lucy in her car seat, peering through her bangs} uhhhhhhhh, which one is this?
Me: OH FOR THE LOVE.
so for the record, she calls the babies "he" and can't tell who is who but only at very convenient times.
Lord help me.
Happy Wednesday!
(back tomorrow with JBS and Gussy Sews winners)

Wow we had that almost exact conversation with our four year old this past weekend. She had her foot on the baby's belly pushing it up and down. Great. Lots of drama when you put them in time out.
I feel your pain :)

Funny but scary at the same time! My sister had to watch her guy like a hawk around the baby...and only now, finally, that she's 3 and can stand up for herself a little, can mama let her guard down - you're guarding two! Phew!
Posted by: Kirsten | 02/16/2011 at 10:14 AM

Posted by: Carrielyn | 02/16/2011 at 01:45 PM
Oh Stephanie, That wee girlie of yours is hilarious!
One day, in the distant future, you MUST put it all into a book. It's not just what you say, it's the way you put it down as well.
With best wishes, as aye!

Gotta love 'em!!! Kids!! LOL My 4 yr old was going around my work today when I stopped in and telling everyone how I slapped his hand and reprimanded him and sent him to his room!!!! He is in this huge destructive stage and I don't know what to do with him. My girls' were not like this. I am beyond talking. He has destroyed way too many things and I did the talking at first. He is TOO smart for his own good. Now, I take things away... his favorite things. Thing is he knows it is not acceptable because he hides what he has destroyed. He is a sneaky little ----.

Oh my gosh...that's the hardest I've laughed all day. I've never posted here before, but pop in everyday to see what's going on in your world (it's never, ever boring). You all could seriously have your own tv show. Thank you so much for keeping it real with all of us. Makes the rest of us feel somewhat normal knowing we're not alone.

Oh Stephanie, your stories make me laugh. And, even more, I dreamt about the twins the other night. I was sitting for them and there was a big party going on. I had to feed them, bathe them, etc. Don't ask me where you were, I really don't remember much, but when I woke up and realized it was your babies in my dreams I just had to laugh!!!
Thanks for sharing your life with us, it becomes part of us as well!!

Your stories about her are so entertaining. I get so excited when I see it's a Sadie post. Of course I love recaps of the other girls too, but there's something about Sadie that makes my heart full when I read what you write.
Posted by: Krista Nash | 02/16/2011 at 10:01 PM
Oh.........bless her little heart!!!!! I just love the way you "type" (tell) your stories of the kiddos.....had me chuckling so hard! Love that picture!
Posted by: Joanie | 02/16/2011 at 11:44 PM
LOL. I have never commented until now. This reminds me of the time when I was fighting with my bother (which happen often) and I pushed him and he hit his head against the corner of a drawer....Crying, blood, mom mad. After mom made sure my brother was going to be ok, my mother made us kneel against the wall. We had to pray while my brother and I were holding hands. 30 minutes later she made us kiss and shake hands. We still fought but no blood was drawn again:) Thirty years later he still has a scar on his eyebrow, hehe. I don't remember what we we fighting about. Love my brother.

Posted by: Kathy Martin | 02/17/2011 at 06:32 AM
There is of course a silver lining - and that is: Sadie is a smartie pants and knows that "babies" is plural and larger than the single quantity of "one." Oh, how I love the age of three. Had me ROFL trying NOT to awake my own baby (the almost 20 year old that is).
Posted by: Ally | 02/17/2011 at 07:52 AM
Oh how those girls antics make me laugh. You are such a good sport to share your stories.... and with the humor I need to start me day. Love it and love all of you!
Posted by: Claudia | 02/17/2011 at 12:31 PM
Oh bother! I have your Sadie at my house but her name is Savannah and she is 15...I am actually totally stealing your title recently that you did that was something like "my beautiful mess" I wish I could tell you she got lest fisty with age but she did't...she is still super cute though and still makes me laugh that deep belly laugh like you do with your Sadie.
Your girls....they are just too too cute. I adore the way you tell their stories. It is so nice to know that all of us with a Sadie or a Harper are not alone. LOL I can't wait to find out what Lucy and Cate's personalities will be like. :D
Posted by: Amy | 02/17/2011 at 03:17 PM
