wow. i don't even know where to start with this one.
she cracks me up. she told me she was ready for me to film and then she came downstairs with all of these dresses in her arms and told me to hang them up for her.
i cannot wait to see what is in this girl's future. she's a trip. i think she might end up as a commentator on E's Fashion Police!
also? i LOVE when i bust sadie singing "firework". and when i totally embarrass her by filming her, please note her socks. HEE!
and don't ask me where my kids come up with this stuff.
because i have
no
earthly
idea.
but it sure does keep me entertained!
and honestly? have i failed as a mother? my child thinks black is not 'ashion? i must teach her about audrey hepburn and the little black dress. immediately. note to self: order this today.
happy thursday.

Fireworks are fancy! OH MY HEAVENS! Love these videos. That is gonna be the new buzz phrase at JBS for me. 'Ashion and Fancy. Love it.
Posted by: Renee | 03/10/2011 at 06:16 AM
Hahaha, that was too cute. I apparently need to re-work my wardrobe, because according to Harper, it would definitely NOT be 'ashion, LOL. Thanks for making me smile this morning!
Posted by: Dana | 03/10/2011 at 06:18 AM
That's really cute, love to listen to her views on all the dresses.
Posted by: Janet and Lisa | 03/10/2011 at 06:50 AM
that's too darn cute!! I have two sisters and we used to love to play fashion show :)

Absolutely priceless!!! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Posted by: Kami | 03/10/2011 at 07:21 AM
My 3 year old LOVED IT! And if she could write, she would have taken notes. She wanted to know where Harper got the dress she was wearing....it was her favorite.
Posted by: allison | 03/10/2011 at 07:25 AM
old navy! :)
they are all either old navy or targhay!
Posted by: Stephanie Howell | 03/10/2011 at 07:26 AM
OMG, I smiled throughout that whole video!
She's adorable!! (They BOTH are!)
I could have watched for an hour!!!
Posted by: krys72599 | 03/10/2011 at 07:28 AM
She's a sweetie! If I ever get to meet her, I'll have to wear something fancy.
Posted by: Ruth Ann | 03/10/2011 at 07:31 AM
She cracks me up! Miss her!!! I'm going to have to go through and remove a lot of not 'ashion dresses from my wardrobe. Although today I'm rocking the hoodie and yoga pants so I'm definitely not 'ashion. I did find a dress online today that I'll have to get Harper's stamp of approval on. It's white, but it has flowers on it, so it might just pass (and the best part is that it isn't maternity!).
Posted by: Kristen | 03/10/2011 at 07:36 AM
OH man... I almost peed my pants giggling at that!
You *must* teach her about the LBD. 'Ashion staple for any budding fashionista's wardrobe!
Posted by: Liz | 03/10/2011 at 07:48 AM
I may or may not have choked when she said that black elephants were not 'ashion. =)
Posted by: Kathryn Reynolds | 03/10/2011 at 07:49 AM
That was too precious!!! Guess I better edit the black in my wardrobe.
Posted by: Hanna | 03/10/2011 at 08:06 AM
My oldest will be 4 on Tuesday and she loved Harper's video. I have been eyeing the dress that Harper was wearing for my girls and it looks adorable on her! She was so 'ashion! I can't wait to hear about tiaras! :-)
Posted by: Shanon Gibson | 03/10/2011 at 08:14 AM
Priceless -- just priceless. I treasure the videos I have of my daughter at that age particularly! My favorite dress is the taupe/grey one with the white polka dots and the bright coral/pink ribbon.
Posted by: Beth Holmes | 03/10/2011 at 08:17 AM
so cute. i would definitely need to work on my 'ashion if i ever met H. my wardrobe is mostly jeans and T-shirts!
she would be so disappointed!! ;)
she is definitely a southern belle!
Posted by: Jen | 03/10/2011 at 08:27 AM
That was hilarious and so cute! I have four young sons, so it's so much fun to see the other side of things!
Posted by: ginny | 03/10/2011 at 08:27 AM
well THIS was the cutest thing i've ever seen! :) totally agree with her- Grey is the 'Ashion color, black dresses are over-rated :)
i have one son, so i just adore your adeventures with four girls :)
thanks for sharing stephanie!

Adorable. I will definitely have to tune it to 'ashion part II, since I am seriously lacking in the tiara department. Maybe Harper would like to discuss maternity 'ashion, because I could use some help!
Posted by: Erin B | 03/10/2011 at 08:49 AM
What a relief...I have more 'ashion than I realized! Tell Harper thanks for the advice!
Posted by: Diane Knott | 03/10/2011 at 08:50 AM
Thank you Harper! You totally made my day! :)
Posted by: marcy | 03/10/2011 at 08:50 AM
She wouldn't like my 'ashion at all - I live in black! Always been my fav - but then red is next in line, so I might not be too boring!
She is a doll!
Posted by: Pat | 03/10/2011 at 08:50 AM
LOVED this....what a 'ashionable girl! So jealous that you can already wear some dresses....still cold here in NJ! My son is around the same age and the stuff they say....hysterical!
Posted by: Beth Graham | 03/10/2011 at 08:55 AM
So darn cute!! I'm off to buy some new dresses with flowers and bows because they are so 'ashionable these days ;)
Thanks Harper!
Posted by: Mary Ann | 03/10/2011 at 09:07 AM
Oh my gosh. SOOOO cute! It made my morning. Thank you so much for sharing! Can't wait to find out about tiara's!!!!
Posted by: Jamie | 03/10/2011 at 09:10 AM
She's going to be like that little girl that started that blog and now sits front row at 'Ashion Week ;o)
Harper is too cute!!!
Posted by: Dena | 03/10/2011 at 09:14 AM
Yep, I totally agree: "Grey is 'ashion." I love that she says "fancy" with an "f" but "fashion" without an "f"; how cute is that?!? I may be inspired to start using the term "'ashion" instead of "fashion". You know, just when I think I'm resigned to not having kids (mind you, we've been trying but it's been ten years and it just doesn't seem to be part of God's plan for our marriage) I see a video like yours and it kills me. Maybe I'm not resigned. Or, then again, maybe I just need to get dressed and go find my newest preschooler at my newest preschool and get my kid fix that way. I just hope the work clothes I pick will be 'ashion enough for Harper. That girl has style!
Posted by: MarieP | 03/10/2011 at 09:14 AM
Oh my stinkin goodness! She is so cute! Love her dresses, she and her momma are super 'ashion...wish those came in my size. :)
Looking forward to the tiaras segment!
Posted by: Jonnelle | 03/10/2011 at 09:15 AM
I can tell she's a southern girl with all her dresses ... up here in the cold we are all about turtlenecks and sweaters :)
I had to laugh at the "koolaid lips" because my daughter has been walking around the last few days with a koolaid/tang mustache and I finally gave her a straw so it wouldn't keep happening.
Posted by: marlene | 03/10/2011 at 09:20 AM
Harper has the cutest dresses ever... she is so adorable! Tell her thanks for the 'ashion tips!
Posted by: Heather V | 03/10/2011 at 09:23 AM
You better teach her about the LBD momma!
It is so cute when little girls say words their own way..I still let my 6 year old do it, but she will be reading soon so I am sure she is going to figure it out. Like magazines aren't "mazagines" and Bambi isn't "Pampi".
I love her in that grey/yellow dress..It is too adorable!
Posted by: lkylaurenkay | 03/10/2011 at 09:27 AM
ha! my girls say mazazine and for some reason harper says gank you
Posted by: Stephanie Howell | 03/10/2011 at 09:28 AM
Oh how I wish my girls were little again!!! I think there is a reason why God gave me a little boy 3rd time around!! He knew I would be broke buying all the cute clothes!!!!!! They just don't have that much cute things for boys, let me tell you. Kids departments are 1/4 boys and 3/4's girls things. I definitely am not 'ashion!!!! LOL jeans, tshirts and sweatshirts for me!! I need some ashion advice from Miss Harper!! LOL So so cute, she is!!!
Posted by: Michelle | 03/10/2011 at 09:54 AM
This made my morning :) I think I'm going to have to start following Harper's 'ashion advice... No more black! It's time for some color (oh yeah, and grey!!) :)
Posted by: Natalie (QSOgirl) | 03/10/2011 at 10:00 AM
She is too adorable! I died. "'ashion" - so sweet. Sadie's cameo was adorable too. ♥

Oh my gosh I wish we lived closer because my Madi would adore your Harper. Such a cute video! She completely cracked me up!
Posted by: Tiffany | 03/10/2011 at 10:40 AM
Thank goodness Harper cannot see my outfit today - I am only 33% 'ashion. I have on blue (WHEW) but have on a black sweater (it has big buttons, is that 'ashion?) and black skirt.
So precious - looking forward to tips on tiaras! :)
Posted by: Christine F. | 03/10/2011 at 11:17 AM
I cannot even begin to tell you how much this video made my day. I find your children endlessly entertaining and have no doubt that Harper has a future in front of the camera. She can definitely hold her own against Joan Rivers anyday!
Tell her I said thank you for the 'ashion tips. I almost wore black today..glad I sidestepped that land mine...lol.
Have a great day!

Good grief this is so cute! Make me wish i would've had at least one girl :) "Ashion"....cracks me up! You gotta work on her about black being in '"ashion" though. It's a womens best friend. hahaha.
Posted by: Ally White | 03/10/2011 at 12:04 PM
That is absolutely adorable! She knows her stuff! I think you got a fashionita on your hands :) I LOVE her dress and the colors.sigh. Funny she said black is not 'ashion! Guess what I wear all the time (with grey being the next color) LOL

Oh...My...DEAR! Absolutely the most cutest thing I have seen in a long time!!!! I'm going to be shopping for new spring clothes and in my mind, I'm going to be saying 'ashion! Your girls are fantastic Stephanie! Love the new words they come up with...when my kids were little, they would say slip lick for lip stick and tot tarts for pop tarts!

the girl likes bows and grey and yellow? I wonder where she gets THAT from? :)
Although, I think Audrey Hepburn might have a bone to pick about that "black dresses are not 'ashion" statement! :)

ABSOLUTELY adorable!!! Love the 'ashion with Harper! Keep up the great work Harper!!! :)

Thanks for the Friday morning entertainment Steph!! :D
Posted by: Michelle | 03/10/2011 at 03:20 PM
Please tell Harper that I am implementing the fancy ruffles, flowers, and bows 'ashion rules into my wardrobe immediately. These tips have obviously worked for her and made her the absolute doll she is, so I am sure it will have the same effect for me. ;P
How you did that with a straight face is beyond me. I would have been grinning like the Cheshire Cat and trying to not to laugh. Both of them are too freakin' cute!
Posted by: Lora Oliver | 03/10/2011 at 04:31 PM
PRECIOUS!!! So glad you were able to capture this moment, it will too fun to be able and look back at these later in life!

Posted by: Susan C. | 03/10/2011 at 05:05 PM
So CUTE! My not-quite-4-year-old, Claire, watched very intently. Twice. She took it very seriously, and said "oops" every time a dress dropped. She is partial to polka dots and lots of color. Thanks for sharing!
Posted by: JenRay | 03/10/2011 at 05:38 PM
Wow Harper! You are soooooo "ash-ion!" I definitely need those tips because I am soooooo NOT ash-ion....I think I have way too much BLACK in my wardrobe (not good, I know) and so I will take your "ash-ion" advice when I go shopping next time for some very colorful, spring/summer dresses for myself. Thank you Harper, and I can't wait until your second video:) And you looked beautiful in your gray and yellow dress!
Posted by: Elizabeth | 03/10/2011 at 05:54 PM
Must. Go. Shopping. Now! And can you imagine showing this at her bridal shower? Or her wedding? I second sending this to Ellen -- she loves this stuff! Miss Harper is awesome and that has A LOT to do with her awesome Momma! I simply adore the fact that you have four daughters who all get to grow up with so much love! Not just the wonderful love that you and J give them, but the Love of Life that you instil in them! Don't change a thing!
