dear camera-
oh, how i've missed you. it's so, so nice to have you back.
i admit, i went a bit nuts this morning, snapping away.
but the girls didn't seem to mind or even notice, i forgot how fast you are!
some of the things you captured took my breath away.
some of the images you captured made me laugh:
and some images just made me plain old happy:
welcome back, friend.
thank you for allowing me to capture on film what i feel in my heart and see with my eyes.
happy tuesday everyone!
back soon with the gussy sews winner!

You know I was really loving all the Instagram pictures, but these are amazing!! Insta what? Some day I have to break down and get myself an SLR camera. Did you get your camera fixed or did you get a new one?
P.S. I have you to thank for my current Bruno Mars obsession.

This may not be the time or place, but I wanted to tell you I am not going to be reading your blog anymore. In all honesty, I hope you don't give a flip. Why? Because you care/worry/stress way too much about what others think of you, what you write, your blog and how you are raising your kids. It should not matter what they think. If someone is taking the time to speak/write negatively, they have WAY too much time on their hands. Time and again you have altered YOUR blog to avoid hurtful comments. That is exactly what people like that want. They want to see you squirm. I really, really like you and enjoy the stories about your kids, seeing your scrapbook talent and praying (along with thousands others) for your husband and all of our soldiers. It just drives me crazy to see a long dissertation about how someone hurt your feelings. I'm sorry.

By Golly! Those are some adorable pics....great shots...what happened to your camera btw? You're girls are absolutely beautiful and you captured them most splendidly:)
Posted by: Elizabeth | 04/05/2011 at 08:06 PM
Nice photos! I read in the comments that you are using a 50mm lens. I need to get one!!! I really hate my indoor photos. I am curious...do you just change them to black and white on your computer? Or do you have a way with your camera to shoot in b&w? I like the look. I always have trouble with color...
Thanks, Jenn V.

And that is totally your right Joanne, and I respect it. Im sorry to see you go, and I hope you have a beautiful life ahead of you. I appreciate your honesty, and that it didnt come anonymously.
Ive mentioned over the years that my self-confidence is something Ive worked hard on. I am getting much better, much more confident, and more secure. Less concerned with others opinions. It is 100 percent okay to feel the way you feel and I certainly feel where you are coming from.
I will tell you this though. Many times, I write thoughts I have in general. Not based on something someone has said to me at all. For example, the post I did a while back about women not being kind and supportive to each other as mothers....that was written randomly. It had not a thing to do with anything anyone said to me. Its something Ive noticed my entire adult life.
Ill be honest that Im a tad confused why you chose to share this here, on this post, but regardless thank you. Best of luck to you!

Absolutely beautiful pics, Steph. Thanks for sharing them and everything else you share on your blog. :) I have just one quick question... do you shoot in RAW or JPEG? Thanks in advance!
