**moxiemandie giveaway still open below!**
Overheard:
Sadie: knock, knock!
Harper: who's there?
Sadie: POOP! (said with great glee)
Harper: EWWWWW! sadie caroline howell, that is NOT attractive!
♥
Sadie: OW! someping hurts!
Harper: oh...i know what it is! hold on, let me check.yep, that's it.
Sadie: WHAT????
Harper: you're too big for your britches!
♥
sidenote: does anyone really think your kids don't listen to every word coming out of your mouth? ☺ harper kind of sounds like a mini stephanie in both of these examples. hehehehe!
On the Table:
I made the most delicious slow cooker chicken and turkey sausage gumbo yesterday.
It is a weight watchers recipe (5 points!!) and I can't get over how seriously yummy it was!
Trying:
Kickboxing last night for the first time. It was probably my least favorite class I've taken so far, but it definitely worked. My abs are super sore today. I need to try spin, but to say i'm scared would be an understatement. haha.
Reading:
well, i say "reading" very loosely as it's been sitting on my bedside table for a week. not much time for reading these days, but i am getting a paragraph or so in each night before i fall asleep out of sheer exhaustion. HA!
Making:
trying to make things using my july kit from SC. i got add-on one and though i love everything, you could say the exact same thing about crafting that i said about reading. no time these days.
summer+exercise=priorities shifting and much less time for creative play. i have to figure out how to fit it back in. :(
i do love the layout above, though!
saving:
being smarter about the ways i'm trying to save. learning it takes patience and smarts. i'm doing better and feeling less frustrated...and finally figured out about all of the "multiples coupons" that baby companies offer for moms of multiples!
it takes some time and phone calls, but almost all baby product companies will send you major coupons and vouchers for free products if you have multiples!
also scored a pretty good deal here the other day:
i saved hundreds of dollars (seriously, like 300) on a double stroller from phil&ted that i've been eyeing for ages.
if you haven't joined zulily, you definitely should. the deals are incredible and shipping has gotten much faster lately!
photos:
miss h playing "princess kate" and miss h wearing her new hat, which she says is "SOOO savannah".
sadie looking at me disdainfully...but gosh i love her green eyes. and lucy's thighs of thunder.
sitting practice (they are SO proud of themselves!) with lucy on the left, fourth of july outfits from carter's
modeling their new amy tangerine tees (lucy is in the green). these are some of my favorite all time photos of them. i can't believe they will be SEVEN months old next week!
have a beautiful, blessed weekend!
xoxo

LOVE the Copy and Paste onesies for the twins!!! Super cute!!!

I heard that book was good and I plan to borrow it from a friend. I read the same as you, a little at a time. Now that my kids all 3 play soccer, gymnastics, dance, etc., I only have like 5 minutes a day to read1 I know the feeling. I love your Fourth of July outfits. That is my favorite holiday! Because it is in the summer and the activities involve the community and seeing lots of friends! (and I have two July babies!).

Precious precious girls. They are adorable. : )
Thanks for the WW recipe! I've been doing it for about 6 weeks now and I love making soups that I can heat up for lunch during the week. It's a nice change from salads with grilled chicken (also good, but I've had a lot of it lately!) : )

I just got that phil&teds stroller, too! I have one on the way- due at the end of July. I went ahead and got the extra seat now... someday we'll have another kid to add to it! :) How do you like the stroller?
I live in waco and noticed in a recent post that you mentioned thrifting/flea marketing here. Where did you find good stuff? I am interested, but have no idea where to start. (I do love Laverty's, but they're closed a lot here recently!)
Oh, and your girls are adorable!

Stephanie, have you read Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman? I thought of you while I read it. It is SUCH a fabulous book. And much of it happens in Savannah. It'll make ya swoon. :)
Posted by: Sarah | 06/17/2011 at 09:24 AM
LOVE the "overhead" conversations. So funny. My daughter (7) has taken to saying "Oh, for Pete's sake," a lot -- wonder where she got that from? ;-)

Stephanie...I think it is absolutly MARVELOUS that you are so dedicated to working out....I feel a gazillion times better when I hit the gym....you are a brave brave woman for trying all of the classes....you gotta gotta GOTTA try spin...seriously!!! It is my FAV class...I do it 3 times a week....I started doing the P90X class this week and I told the instructor that she has broken me...every little tiny ounce of me hurts SO bad...of course...knowing my sadistic self...I will go back for the torture time and time again!!! I love feeling the burn....not so much lovin the girls telling me I walk like an old grandma!!!
I love the convo between H and S....I love secretly listening to my girls...makes me feel so young again!!! All 4 of your girls are just precious!
I hope that you have a marvelous weekend!!!

Sometimes I just think your girls can't get any cuter... and then you prove me wrong! Those copy/paste t's just crack me up!!
Posted by: Carrielyn | 06/17/2011 at 02:00 PM
I've got to mention how utterly adorable the twins are. I don't think words do them justice because they are too sweet and too funny with all their big expressions. Not that all your children aren't adorable too :)
Posted by: Fionna | 06/17/2011 at 02:26 PM
The facial expressions of the twins in their pictures kill me. They are giving Sadie a run for her money.
Also, saw a onesie with a slogan that would be great for your twins to wear . . . "my mom doesn't want your advice". At least, if you were feeling snarky that day.

Bah!!! I got lost in "Under the Dome" by Stephen King. Haven't read him in years and years, but he's still got it, and sucked me right on in. Although I need a good lighthearted read now. Not quite what "Room" is....
Cutest pics of your kids, btw!!

You are so blessed with those 4 beautiful girls!!! I have found that if I call a company and tell them that I use their products all the time, they will send me coupons. i just did it with lean Cuisine!

Those girls are SERIOUSLY adorable!!!!
Posted by: Tilda | 06/17/2011 at 07:27 PM
Oh my gosh! We had the same knock knock joke at my house just this morning! Perhaps this is 3 year old humor at its best! My daughter responded with "Finn Winslow that is so disapproriated! You are disqualified! Poop is for the bathroom!" hee - love "disappropriated"
Thanks for sharing those darling pics of the babies...they make me ache for another one. Truly ache. I must pinch myself and repeat "9 is fine! We're done, done, done!"
They are beautiful!

Love all the photos, but those babies with their proud sitting up smiles are just precious! So sweet!!

I read Room earlier this summer. It was a very hard book to read.....mostly because it was told from a young child's point of view. Have you read the Hunger Games Trilogy?? They are very good and they are being made into movies!!!
Posted by: Rita | 06/18/2011 at 12:16 AM
Yes I read them last year!!

Harper cracks me up! Love her and Sadie's conversations! Priceless! Darling photos too! I'm currently reading 'My Sister's Keeper' about a 13 year old suing her parents for medical emancipation. All her life she's donated blood, bone marrow, etc. to her sister who has leukemia. Now her sister needs a kidney transplant that doctor's say she's too weak to undergo and the sister doesn't want to have to keep donating. Heart wrenching wonderful story. I'm looking forward to finding out how it all turns out.

Here's my little 'tip' for spin class;
the instructor told me to take it easy the first time because it sneaks up on you. So when she would tell everyone to crank up the tension....i would just go through the motions and pretend i was cranking it up. If I had turned it up, I'm sure I would have fallen off my bike halfway through the class! Good luck, it's an awesome workout.
Congrats on the sitting milestone. So cute!
