journaling:
11 years ago you were just a west point boy i met at a bar. you had a beautiful smile and you could play the guitar. you were more interested in parties than in good grades. 11 years ago i was hoping you would call after we shared a kiss. 11 years later, you are my heart. you are my hero. you are the father that i prayed my children would have. beyond what i could have imagined. you have the ability to love with all of your heart, to be a tender and loving father and husband...but also a brave warrior. you are a leader. a friend. the glue, the heart of our family. you are everything.
happy fathers day, jimmy. we love and miss you.
and to my daddy, happy father's day. i love and miss you too.
xoxo

This is a beautiful post. Thanks for sharing. I met you for the first time through Mabry many years ago in Houston (if I remember correctly) a long time before kids. I don't think I was married to P (Mabry's brother) yet. Anyways, I admire you for raising a family and having this beautiful blog. My husband and I have two girls. Just like your kids, I grew up in a family of four girls and I am the oldest. Two of my sisters are twins just like you. Best wishes. I know how it is to raise four kids and having twins as I have seen my mom raise us. Hugs, Kaho

WoW-ZA! Yes your words are kind and true. What a wonderful, heartfelt legacy you {and your soldier hubby} are building for your girls!
God Bless and as July 4th Holiday is right around the corner...I will be thinking of your strong little family.
{insert small joke here} ;) (question) "Hey Lady!.... Are all those kids yours???? or.... is this a church picnic?"
(ans.) "Yes! these ARE all my kids and NO! It is NO picnic!" (one of "my father's jokes")
(I also have four children...four....sepreate births. 1 girl, 3 boys. My daughter was a piece of cake, the boys?...well.... let's just say when I first saw them {face to the floor;back to the ceiling} I thought that I had just given birth to a St. Bernard!!!!)yah, big baby! Today, they are all very tall, very handsome and very talented young men WITH a job! the youngest of them all is in the MARIENES
