i know i said i'd share the winners from the past 2 giveaways, yesterday and i didn't. but i promise it WILL get done this weekend. it's written in my agenda, so now it is set in stone. hahaha!
i just wanted to quickly share this amazing video with y'all. i think disney got in my brain and did a commercial on why we think it is okay to do the princess thing.
we do the "princess thing" THIS way. we always have and always will. and i love that disney agrees.
hope y'all enjoy as much as i did.
happy saturday!
Thank you for sharing this! I couldn't agree more. My three girls are all princesses in their own unique way. Have a great weekend.

That made me cry. I haven't actually thought of it that way. You always see bratty demanding girls and women calling themselves princesses. So much so that there is almost a negative connotation associated with the word. I am also trying to instill these values in my children, including my son. Thank you for sharing.

I have a really ambiguous relationship with Disney, but this was awesome! I too am a mom to a daughter that I'm trying to teach so many of those things to. Thank you so much for sharing this Stephanie! Now I'm going to email it to my husband...

Oh good grief, I'm crying!! lol.
Like Dina said, I'm not always too thrilled with Disney princesses, but this was really lovely. {I had to laugh though about the family comment -- how many Disney princesses have good relationships with their families?!}
Thanks for sharing. :)

I love all of the built-upon ideas! (i.e. trust leads to loyalty, being brave even when you're scared, etc). Taking one marvelous trait (kindness) and extending it. It just gave me chills about all the awesome, amazing, strong little girls depicted. Way to go Disney on this one.

Thank you SO SO SO much for posting this! I have been so anti-princess since Hattie was born. Well, not anti, really, but I don't like Hattie being called a Princess. And then a couple months ago, she looked at me with her big, beautiful eyes and smiled. I saw this strength in her... her kindness, her warmth, her generosity, her spirit... even at this tender age; she has the most amazing heart. She's always willing to hand out hugs and kisses, "please"s and "thank you"s, always willing to share her most favorite things. And I looked at her, and for the first time, I said, "Why, hello, Princess! Hattie, it's okay to be a princess... if it means you're strong and loyal and friendly and loving and kind and considerate. That's what makes a real princess." So thank you for posting this. Makes me feel better about the whole thing and gives me encouragement too... to teach her what it does mean to be a Princess. :-)

Just got the chance to watch this today, I have to say I got a little teary eyed! I SO agree with this! I love following your blog and your girls, wow they are so beautiful and wonderful and remind me so much of my own when they were smaller, now 10, 11, and 13. They love together and they fight together and I would not change a thing! Thanks for sharing your life journey with us!
