Hey y'all. :)
I wanted to share a December Daily post today.
For those of you who are part of the Boot Camp class and have been checking for updates...thanks for your patience! I didn't want to share every day (can you say DD overload??:) and thought weekly would be better!
To recap...I used the Gossamer Blue kit (which is now sold out) but I linked almost all the products I used below.
For the ones I didn't link, check the GB page.Lori has all the products listed there (under the photos).
Dec 5- This is a 2 page spread b/c Dec 4. had an extra insert for our Christmas card.
A fun accent is the circle on the bottom of the left page.
Jimmy and I went out to dinner and on top of the butter dish was a vellum circle with the restaurant's name on it.
Yes, I put it in my purse. And no, it didn't have any butter on it. HA!
Dec. 6/7
Dec. 8/9
Dec 10/11
Dec. 12/13
Dec. 14/15
I did not want to gloss over the tragedy on the 14th. But I didn't want to put anything scary in either.
I was so confused what to do, but I did my best. Still not sure what I should have said...I notice that many people haven't mentioned it at all. But I wanted to.
Dec. 16/17
And one more quick share...I used my MME goodies to make gift card holders for Sadie's teachers.
All you need is glassline envelopes, doilies, washi tape, and sticker accents. Easy peasy.
Each envelope holds Amazon gift cards.
I LOVE her teachers and one of them is interested in Project Life for 2013, so I thought Amazon was the way to go. :)
Have a beautiful day. xoxo
stephanie, it's turning out so beautifully!!!
I love it! making me wish I would have done one now :-)
My daughter Savannah is wanting to remember the children that died
that day, she is writing their name in sharpie on her hand, one name,
until it wears off and each time she gets in the pool for practice at swim (every day after school)
she will swim as hard and fast as she can for that child, and think of them, until the name wears off,
and then write a new name down!

I really appreciate the fact that you did a post on the Sandy Hook tragedy. I too noticed that hardly any of the blogs have mentioned it at all. Not mentioning it just emphasizes what I've long thought...which is that most blogs are just fluff and are not in synch with real life. I appreciate your efforts in keeping your blog real, and on the beautiful post you wrote. The Max Lucado prayer was also read in our Sunday church service. And the DD stuff is just beautiful. I'm glad you decided to do one this year and share it!

What are glassline envelopes? Not familiar. Where do you get them? Thanks for the post on Sandy Hook - it was beautiful. Heavy hearts in Oklahoma and all over the world.

I think you did a wonderful job of including the SH tragedy. I am in the same boat--I want to document it, but I wish I could do it gracefully. I have a hard time with the right words. Your overall DD is incredible. I love the large red numbers for each day and the way you layer.

You made me wish I did a DD too. I love those big numbers - do you know who made those? We are participating in making as many snowflakes as humanly possible for the kids of SH when they return to school next year. And a question - which PL kit do you recommend for my first go at it. I know SC has one, but wanted to see what you recommend. thanks :)

Stephanie, I'm ordering these page protectors for PL - I think this size to be much more manageable for my first attempt at PL than the full size pages... Do you happen to know if they fit in any albums other than the American Crafts 8x8??? BTW - thank you for inspiring me to get my rear back in scrapping mode!

There are special Simple Stories albums, I would order one of those! (click the link I embedded in the sentence!) the AC ones are fine but I had to punch extra holes in the page protectors. Not so fun. oxo
