Happy Tuesday, y'all!
I hope you are having a wonderful week. I wanted to do a little (brief) post about Project Life today.
Some of you have asked if I will post my PL every week and the answer is no.
First of all, I am not really stressing myself out about when I work on PL. It's just fun for me.
So I don't want to try to post about it regularly.
Also...all project lifes look alike to me! PL is special to each of us because it is ours.
It's not revolutionary or earth-shattering and I love that.
I share some photos and stories in my PL that aren't for any eyes except Howell eyes. HAHA!
Now there are some scrapbookers that share amazing and new ideas for PL.
I'm not one of them. I'm going low pressure, low technique, photos+words.
Like you've seen/read everywhere...Project Life is whatever you want it to be.I want it to be easy and low cost.
But every now and then I would like to share products I've found that I love and show you how I used them.
Today I want to show you the album I'm using and some awesome printable cards I've found.
As far as my album goes, I'm using a Studio Calico Sundrifter Oilcloth Handbook.
For inserts, I'm using a combination of Handbook page protectors in style 1, style 2,and style 3. Heavy on the style 2.
Last year I bought a core kit and did a 12x12 album. It was too much for me.
And now for some of my favorite printables that I've used recently.
As always, Geralyn's cards remain my favorite.
These custom "what harper said" (there is also a "what sadie said" version) cards will always be a staple.
Some other printable cards that I'm loving are these Nemo Nor'Eastern cards from rukristin 's blog.
I love the way they look with the snow photos. Simple, graphic, clean.
I've been using lots of the Pebbles cards in my book. They are simple and happy.
Another great (free) printable is the Oscars card you see to the bottom left of the photo below.
I found this set on Laura Kate's blog. They are fantastic.
I decided to do a card about television shows and movies my family was enjoying.
I found this free printable TV programs card (bottom left) on the scrapbook printables website. Perfect.
The last printables I want to share are AMAZING. I cannot believe they are free.
The "fabulous life" card, Jan 28-Feb 3 card, Life is Good card, and Hello Today card are all from Miss Tiina. I LOVE THESE.
So there you go. A few shares that were too good to keep to myself!
If you have any questions ask in the comment section. As always, I'll answer there.
Have a wonderful day!
xoxo

Your PL is gorgeous...and personal.

This is probably one of the most valuable PL posts out there. It totally emphasizes all the right things: 1) that it's personal 2) that although there are Core kits, you can do it your way and it's still "right" 3) that although I'm a HUGE Becky Higgins fan and supporter, I've added and subtracted from my kits over the past two years, and used her products and used other vendors' products, 4) that NO pressure is the best kind of pressure (my 2012 PL binder has about 3 pages from before Thanksgiving through New Years - I just didn't have the time and by the end of my Christmas "vacation" I was in no mood to put weeks and weeks together so I called it November/December AND IT'S FINE!).
Thanks, too, for showing us just a glimpse of how you use non-official PL embellishments to make the Howell PL 2013 all yours!!!

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing. I have been having trouble finding inserts I want to use and I think these are perfect! I have been doing my own free-style form of PL and this size is just what I am looking for. :)

I love your PL! I am keeping yours in mind for next year - really like the smaller format. Why do I need all these dates/calendar cards.. just let it flow. I am doing 1 page per week on a 12x12 right now and it's ok. Wish it could be more relaxed though. Thanks for sharing yours... beautiful work as always.

I don't blame you for not sharing some PL stuff. We have some pages that only the 5 of us will see, no one else, not close friends, relatives, etc.! I never want others to see my messy house in the background of all of the pictures I take at home (haha!!). I do love the little album you posted. So cute! What size is that album? I am doing pl but haven't started the pages yet because I can't figure out a way to print pictures 4x4 or 3x4. Very computer illiterate and my husband, the computer expert travels a lot.

the inserts are 6x8 :)

I bow to you, Shelly Jaquet. YOU are the QUEEN of PL. I want to be like you when I grow up :)

Great little album you are making. PL can get a little overwhelming with 4 little ones. I have 3 and sometimes it is tough to get to it. I have been considering doing a smaller version as well. It is nice to get a little peek at yours. I love that little "photo booth" type picture of the twins. How did you create it?

You're ears must have been burning!! Just last night I was admiring your album and wanting to see/learn more. Like you I have tried the 12x12 route and have been very intimidated by it. I dabbled with the idea of this size album but for some reason I thought in order to do this I had to do 12x12. I love love love your album and the size! Seeing your has convinced me small can be done...and done well!! Memories/stories can be done in smaller format. Thank you for sharing!!!

Love your album! Do you print on cardstock or use a specialty paper?

Love <3 Let me know when you need Cate & Lucy cards :)
Posted by: Geralyn | 03/13/2013 at 02:34 AM
I LOVE LOVE your album, the size is perfect. You make each page so pretty and your own special touch to them, LOVE THIS!! I went smaller this year too, didn't buy the kit. I'm using a 81/2x11 album and baseball card page protectors, took me weeks to get use this size. I enjoy it now but would love to switch it to your size to more pocket room. I love that this PL idea can be whatever you want it to be, to make it work for you and make you HAPPY!!
Thanks for sharing these peeks and links with us, LOVE THEM!!!

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for sharing no matter how much or how little and thank you for mentioning my free printable cards, I always put my PL printables on my blog, I design and make them for my own needs ( I too am doing cheap and simple on my PL ) but its always great to hear that someone else has found a use for them.
I have spent time putting all the PL designs in one place now to make it easier.

OMGoodness I love your scrapbook pages, big, small or PL! And I laughed to myself at the teeny tiny little finger and hair of one of the littles.....cute!!
Posted by: Leslie | 03/14/2013 at 08:38 PM
Sorry, should have clarified......teeny tiny little finger and hair of one of the littles in the 4th photo from the bottom - like she's turning the pages. I'll bet they love looking at the books too!

I love your smaller PL album size. Might have to try that at some point. I'm only on my 2nd year of PL and 12x12 still works for me. Thank you for sharing your pages and for the freebie finds! :)

I really loved this version! Do you have any suggestion for more cheaper or in bulk options for the inserts? I am overseas and would love a cheaper version. thanks!
