Happy Monday!
I'm pretending that spring is here even though it most definitely is NOT.
Here's my wish list for spring.
Emphasis on wish...some of these pieces aren't even close to being in the budget, but a girl can dream.
Or emulate with more affordable pieces!
Right now I'm crushing on navy and coral. Classic and fresh.
Happy Wednesday!

*note- this post is not sponsored by stitch fix and i am not affiliated with them in any way. i just really love this company and this idea.**
I have a new obsession.
And I honestly believe that this is a GENIUS idea for those of us too busy (or surrounded by small children) to shop.
As much fun as it is frantically flying through a store, grabbing pieces, and then speed-trying them on whilst sweating...
Stitch Fix is much more fun.
Here's a little blurb from the website:
Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. We get your style and size preferences, then send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. No two Fixes are alike. Each one is hand–picked just for you.
And here's how it works.
You sign up (using the invitation link shared below) and wait to be accepted. It took a bit for me to be accepted, but I can assure you it it totally worth the wait.
Next you fill out a style profile online. You answer tons of questions...from size to taste. There are collections that you look at and share your opinion:
Once I was accepted I set up a Stitch Fix date. You can get these as often as you wish, but I get a box once a month.
Each fix includes five items (clothing or accessories based on what you need/want) that are hand-picked just for you. You pay a $20 "styling fee" for each box, but if you buy any items it serves as a credit towards the item(s).
Once you receive the items, you have three days to decide what you want to keep. Everything else you send back in a prepaid envelope.
Here's why this idea rocks. I had time to try on everything slowly. And scrutinize it. And combine the pieces with things i already owned.
I wasn't stressed. I wasn't sweating. I wasn't having to keep two 2 year olds from ripping down the dressing room curtain and exposing me to the entire store.
Not that that's ever happened...
Anywho.
Each item comes with a card attached. The card describes the item and shows you two ways to style it. BRILLIANT. Just what this frazzled mommy needs.
This is the invoice that came in my box. I love the little note at the top.
Let's discuss the price point. Most of these items cost a little bit more than I'm used to spending. But I've recently had a little fashion come to Jesus talk with myself.
I'm at the point that I'm tired of my things falling apart. I'm going for quality over quantity. I finally learned that spending a little more is worth it.
Yes, I can spend $70 for two items at Old Navy...but those pieces are not holding up. They are fading and unraveling...
and it's a waste of money.
I love that you get a 25%discount if you buy all of the items. I doubt I'll ever do this...but still.
I didn't even try on the cowlneck top. That was the only complete miss in my box. It was not my style, I didn't like the color, I didn't like the fabric.
Here's what else I got in my fix (excuse the lack of makeup and the bad lighting).
I loved the star scarf. Soft, big,and the stars are too cute.
I kept it.
I can't even tell you how gorgeous the blue top was. But this was a month that I just couldn't get more than one item. I have so many blue tops that I couldn't justify another.
But it was GORGEOUS.
Here are the other 2 items I tried on. Again- sorry for the blurry images. Next month I think I'll use a real camera. :)
The colorblock sweater was lovely. The sleeves are grey and I loved the black/white. But the sleeves were way too short.
After this fix I actually went back and changed my sizes and noted to the stylist that my arms were long.
The brown owl top...well let's just say I almost didn't try it on. I might have laughed.
I did try it on though, and although I still didn't love it (I'm just not really a brown person or a birds-on-my-clothes person)...I have to say I'm glad I tried it. The peasant type fit was very flattering.
So that's my review of my first Stitch Fix. I have high hopes for next month, as I tweaked sizes, color choices, and added some thoughts for my stylist.
I will share how month 2 goes!
If you want to sign up, here is a referral code.
Have a beautiful and blessed Wednesday!!

It's no secret that I love shopping. I love fashion and I especially love spring fashion.
You know who else loves those things too? Miss Harper. :)
She is growing like a weed. Her legs and arms are growing a mile a minute and nothing fits her.
I'm waiting for the spring to take her on a little shopping spree, and of course I alread have her wardrobe planned!
Hey, can you blame me? She takes wonderful care of her clothes and really enjoys wearing them. She's a dream to shop with.
Sadie isn't really all that interested in what she wears just yet. I mean, she loves putting outfits together, but doesn't mind wearing hand me downs. So Harper's good taste benefits her, too.
Here's what I found:
1.Button Shoulder Stripe Sweater 2.Long Sleeve Dot Dress 3. Super Skinny Floral Jeans 4.Moto Sweater Jacket 5.Stripy Ruffle Dress 6.Belted Skinny Khakis 7.Striped Heart Tunic Sweater 8.White Denim Jacket 9.Intarsia Heart Sweater 10.Patterned High Tops 11.Ruffle Trim Polka Dot Top 12.Dot Button Skirt 13.Ruffle Tiered Jersey Skirt 14.Black Skinny Jeans 15.Striped Jersey Tie Belt Dress 16.Polka Dot Bow Tie Headband 17.Glitter Stripe Ballet Flat
Fun, no? I'd say God knew what he was doing when he made me a mama of all girls.
TeeHee!
Happy Monday!

I don't shop much for myself in the fall, winter,or spring. But summer? I go a little bit nuts. There's nothing like a good sundress or skirt. And sandals, flip flops...yeah, I'm a sucker.
Here's a few of my favorite things that I'm wearing this summer. Note: I try to buy a few nice pieces that will last a long time. To me, it is worth paying more for somthing that will last and will be timeless. Then I supplement with pieces from Target,Old Navy...and this year even Maurices (which I had never even been in and most of it isn't very "me).
I've run into a problem lately. It seems that most hemlines are a few inches too short for me. When I find a nice midi or maxi dress that I love, I make sure to snag it. It's hard to find clothes that are appropriate for this mama of four. :)
1. Trina Turk one shoulder dress at Banana Republic.2. ikat maxi skirt- Old Navy3.Francesca's Reef bracelet4.Target Esma sandals5. J Crew Lucille dress6.Maurice's bandage shirt7.Target cascade ruffle dress (I love this one so much I bought it in three colors/patterns-no joke)8.LOFT blurred ikat animal print maxi dress9.Old Navy chevron dress10. Maurice's flutter sleeve top
tonight i get to dress up. i get to be FANCY as the girls would say.
high heels, smokey eyes, little black dress...not a barbie, sippie,or diaper in sight. replacing the ponytail with an updo , the aquaphor with lipstick, and the diaper bag with a clutch.
ranger ball here, out on the town here or here maybe?, spending the night here, brunch here.mmmmmm beignets.
wish me luck...that i can carry on an adult conversation, not trip in my heels, and not break any glasses with my over the top gesturing. that i can recreate this look without looking like i got punched in the face, that i can spend a night away and ENJOY it, let it recharge us...and that i don't call the sitter every .2 seconds. these are things i really have issues with. HAHAH!
happy saturday!
hey guys! it's harper here with some fall fashion tips.
what's a howell girl to wear when the temperatures drop a bit? why a trench coat of course!
mommy always says that audrey hepburn made the trench coat classic.then she starts talking about cat and the rain and a kiss (EW!)...and we have no idea what she's talking about but we just listen to her anyway.
when you wear a trench coat, it's imperative to make this pose and yell (FAAAASHION!!!!!)
harper's coat is by secretly spoiled and sadie's is several years ago from old navy.
a cute shirt dress and tights is always good for the fall too. i like this one because i can do alllll the buttons all by myself. and when i do them it makes sadie cry because she can't do buttons yet and she's jealous.
and it makes mommy look like she's going to cry because it takes me about 30 minutes.
curled hair is always cute, i asked mommy to do mine for picture day. this meant we had to wake up 30 minutes earlier and for some weird reason mommy's eyes were half closed the whole time. next time i'll make her drink her coffee first.
it really helps (because it kind of HURTS to have your hair curled) to sing "FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASHION reeeeeeealy HURRRRRRRRRTS" while you are having your hair curled. this is what i did the entire time...in an opera voice. it was pretty awesome.
dress by elephantito , tights by crewcuts
now i'm going to share sadie's fashion tips. she can't share them herself because a. she doesn't want to and b.she's off jumping off of things, doing headstands, making messes, and scaring my parents half to death.
the boo boo on her face is from when she ran into a slide at full speed while running under the play structure at forsyth park. she likes the scar, she says it makes her look tough.
sadie likes to yell "BACK OFF" at me when i talk to her about fashion. i don't know why she acts like she doesn't care, i know for a FACT that she tried on three different outfits before mommy chose the one below.
she must like fashion because the first outfit she chose was a princess dress, a kate gosselin wig,and pajama pants!
anyway...sadie says the best 'cessory is a tough face. she also favors the "who are you trying to get crazy with ese? don't you know i'm LOCO???" face as displayed in the black and white photo below.
shirt&jeans-target
and just so you all know i KNOW she secretly loves fashion. she wore skinny jeans the other day and she kept smiling and saying she looked like boppy (that's me!!!)and she didn't want to take them off. i know her secret!!
well, that's it!
have a great day everyone!! i'm off to dress my 2394823984 barbies in complicated clothes! i can't do it myself but i ask my mommy every time and i know she loves it!
happy monday!
h
where do i begin.
a. she thought i said "panties" instead of peonies? um, awwwkward. please note what J says after she says panties.
b. TENDER?????
c. what in the Jose was Sadie doing with a binkie?
d. yes, she thinks that headbands are called "hus-bands". i never correct her when she says words wrong, one day she will say everything right and i will miss these days!
e.i think she is the coolest kid in the universe for saying that "sugarettes" are not a cool cessory.
f. sorry this is so loooong. girl is a bit of a scatterbrain. HEE!
and also- here's a little video bonus.
the vocal stylings of the howell sisters, who are LOVING bruno mars these days.
please note that i have convinced them it's "fun" instead of "dumb" and "dancing SHOES" instead of "dancing juice".
have a beautiful st.patrick's day!!
xoxo
s
wow. i don't even know where to start with this one.
she cracks me up. she told me she was ready for me to film and then she came downstairs with all of these dresses in her arms and told me to hang them up for her.
i cannot wait to see what is in this girl's future. she's a trip. i think she might end up as a commentator on E's Fashion Police!
also? i LOVE when i bust sadie singing "firework". and when i totally embarrass her by filming her, please note her socks. HEE!
and don't ask me where my kids come up with this stuff.
because i have
no
earthly
idea.
but it sure does keep me entertained!
and honestly? have i failed as a mother? my child thinks black is not 'ashion? i must teach her about audrey hepburn and the little black dress. immediately. note to self: order this today.
happy thursday.
