scrappy sunday- 9/4 creating keepsakes budget friendly issue

creating keepsakes has a fabulous new issue out called "budget-friendly scrapbooking".

pick the issue up ASAP...i have found so many ideas thumbing through this magazine.

i was asked to create a layout using only paper and letter stickers and here's what i came up with (click on image to see it larger):

i learned i really don't need much to make a layout. i only used sassafras patterned papers (i cut the floral portions from a sheet of paper). the borders came in really handy, i used them to frame the photos!

11 years ago you were just a west point boy i met at a bar. you had a beautiful smile and you could play the guitar. you were more interested in parties than in good grades. 11 years ago i was hoping you would call after we shared a kiss. 11 years later, you are my heart. you are my hero. you are the father that i prayed my children would have. beyond what i could have imagined. you have the ability to love with all of your heart, to be a tender and loving father and husband...but also a brave warrior. you are a leader. a friend. the glue, the heart of our family. you are everything.

 

happy fathers day, jimmy. we love and miss you.

barely any time to craft=super simple. foldies are about as simple as you can get...they are dimensional punch out flowers. i need layouts to come together quickly these days, and this was perfect.

journaling: when sadie told me she wanted to feed  lucy, i grabbed my camera all ready to see a sweet and lovely moment. instead, i got this. sheer panic. not sure if it was the sour pears or the death grip sadie had on her shoulder but lucy was not loving it.

made using: sassafras sunshine broadcast. foldies, stickers,border stickers.

i wanted to share a layout today that i did a few weeks back...

 

 

sweet baby bird

sigh. look at sweet tiny baby catie. she was SO little!! i have to tell you, as someone who is used to having 8 lb 9 oz babies (both H and S), holding a 4 lb 12 oz baby is very different. it was like learning to hold a baby all over again.

she's always reminded me of a teeny tiny little baby bird, so when i saw the super cute ellie's tale line, i knew right away what i wanted to do with it.
